Day 1
Elevation:2400-3300m
Day 2
Shangri-La – Deqin – Feilaisi
Sightseeing and Activities: Dongzhulin Monastery, the First Bend of Jinsha River, Baima Snow Mountain, Meili Snow Mountain
Drive 4 to 5 hours to Deqin County (3400m altitude), 187km away from Shangri-La. The view along the way is fantastic with different kinds of trees, streams down the valley, prayer flags and stupas, and Tibetan villages. We will make stops to take pictures and enjoy the view. Drive down to the river valley, continue the nice scenery along the Jinsha River to Benzilan Town where you will have lunch.
After lunch, drive uphill to the Dongzhulin Monastery, built in 1667. Visit the First Bend of Jinsha River or Moon Bend between the mountains with impressive scenery, which is the boundary between Sichuan and Yunnan. Visit Baimang Snow Mountain Nature Reserve, you will be able to view Baima Snow Mountain if the weather is clear, pass the top part of today at 4292m altitude at 156km.
Arrive in Feilai temple in the late afternoon, you will have a nice sunset view of Meili Snow Mountain from the Viewing Platform, where you can see the 13 white pagodas meaning of the 13 peaks of Meili Snow Mountain over 6,000 meters above sea level, known as the “Prince’s 13 peaks”.

Day 3
Watch the sunrise over Meili snow mountain! (weather permitting) Afterward, we will drive to Mingyong Glacier. Hike for 4 hours (stairs) in total about 5 km, enjoy the amazing view. We will arrive at Taizi temple first by golf car and hike up 3km on the stairs. After Taizi temple we will keep hiking another 2.5km to the Lotus temple. After the hike, we will drive to Cizhong (2200m) and stay overnight.

Day 4
Enjoy the sunrise and have breakfast. Then we will drive 2 hours and change to the jeep (40 min) to the Yubeng village. Start hiking to the holy waterfall in the afternoon. Come back to Upper Yubeng village where we will spend the night and save some energy for tomorrow’s amazing hike.

Day 5
After breakfast, we will start the most difficult hike during the trip but it also has the most beautiful scenery. We will see horses and yaks, pass through the forest, you might even spot wild animals if you are lucky. A beautiful river originates from Glacier Park, walk along the river with a wooden bridge and spruce trees, you will have a wonderful view of Mt. Kawagebo Glacier.
After picnic lunch, arrive at Glacier lake which is located at the foot of the glacier. Trek down back to Yubeng village in the late afternoon.
The total hike is about 7 hours. This one-day excursion is only reserved for strong hikers For people who want to save energy, we suggest you hike the pass and enjoy the view at the platform and go down to the upper village( 3 hr)
